Physics for our Future

About Physics for our Future
Physics for our Future is a new project presenting exciting new physics to teachers and schools in Australia. This site contains material from our public lectures available free for your use.
Physics has influenced our modern world, the way we live and the machines and gadgets we use. Physics will give us the ideas and techniques to shape our future. To resolve some of our current problems, such as limited resources, conventional forms of energy and the spread of our good standard of living across the globe, we need more developments in physics.
Prof. Hans Bachor delivering the inaugural Physics for our Future talk at the Australian Academy of Science on June 6 2007

There are many unchartered areas for research and many great inventions still to come. In this series of lectures you will find examples of current research and future ideas that cover almost all parts of physics - and much of it is done here in Australia.
Material from theses public talks, given by prominent Australian and International physicists, will be posted on this site and made available on DVD as teaching resources for school teachers. At the end of the Physics for our Future programme, the public talks will be compiled into a book as a free resource for science teaching in schools around Australia.
Please explore our site and download the past lectures located in the Lecture Archive page. Check the Events page regularly for information on upcoming talks.
